Launching New Game+

As members of the games journalism community, we really do a terrible injustice to the brilliant creations that we write about daily which inspired us to get into this field in the first place.  We often highlight products for little more than a week (at best), and then toss them aside in the scramble to get on top of the next "big thing."  This is our job, and to be honest, we're not complaining.  We love what we do.

But in reality, this isn't how games are meant to be experienced.  It isn't the control scheme or the difficulty level that makes games fascinating, but the way that the game communicates something, even inspires something within the player over time.  It's the passionate dialogue about these experiences that goes on between the players about these works of art that is really worth devoting time to, and it's the critical examination of these discussions that will help assure that timeless classics remain timeless, and that the future of the industry is a bright and thoughtful one.

The aim of New Game+ is to help rid these masterful creations of the artificial shelf lives that we within the industry are responsible for bestowing upon them.  Starting now, our writers and editors will be visiting and revisiting creations from the past in order to breathe new life into the multitude of wonderful products that are often passed over far too quickly, many of which are available still today thanks to various avenues of digital distribution.  The most exciting part about this is the potential dialogue that may open up between our staff and readers as a result of New Game+, which will hopefully lead to a clan of more critical, experimental gamers who are even more appreciative of this amazing interactive medium that we love so much.
