You have a point Maganja, but considering the quality of the voice acting in general having a silent player character is only thing I dislike about the game, and its quite nitpicky at that.

And I doubt they would bring in six different actors for each role. Most likely one or two males and females each that can handle the changes among the races. If DA had come out before Mass Effect, I don't think anyone would have noticed.

I agree with the feeling of "taking a step back" in comparison to Mass Effect -> I am surprised they were able to bring out a quality title other than Mass Effect 2.
Nice review.

That would be a lot of voice acting! There was six different voices you could choose from for male and female, so there would be at least twelve different options... I'm not sure if the twelve voices differed between the three races, though. I'll check it out when I start on the next origin story. Either way, that would have been a lot of extra money they would have had to spend on getting voice actors.
I just pretend my character is the strong, stoic, silent type. Or someone glued his mouth shut and froze his face in an expression of bland interest.

I agree, while the silent PC is not a major drawback, it would have really tightened things up in the dialogs and cutscenes.

Great game. I've been playing it myself and really enjoy it. I don't mind the silent MC too much, probably because I'm so used to the device being employed in other RPG games. I think the other characters more than make up for the silence.
